To love and to hold is a wonderful gift

Is the surest way to give your soul a lift

So treasure those you love and adore

And distance yourself from those you abhor

Where is the love that kept us both whole?

Where is the love that was our joint goal?

I wish you had talked, been honest with your mind

It may not have helped, but would have been more kind

I look back at photos of us at our best

And try and make sense of permanence as a guest

I know there were issues, needs which weren’t met

I thought we honoured each other; were an unsung duet

Today was hard, I felt the loss

Felt like he didn’t give a toss

I’ve walked many roads, visited old haunts

Thinking about all of our previous jaunts

No good to travel this road in my mind

It only hurts and feels so unkind

I accept what is, yet feel such pain

I trust that this won’t be my bane

I must learn to walk in these new shoes

And trust that there is nothing left to lose

My heart is strong, my spirit keeps me safe

The Universe protects me, my Angels keep faith

I feel the energy, I am the source

And know that this will run its course

My life will unfold just as it should
