Jettisoned kisses lick mouthes neatly; opiate performances quietly restored.

Soft talk unveiled words, x-raying yesterday’s zeal.

Our eyes met across the shimmer of the lagoon

If I had not been sitting, I think I’d have swoon

He gracefully glided out from the dark

And swam towards me, as if to remark

We bowed in acknowledgment to each others souls

And held a precious moment that made me feel whole

His feathered white beauty stood out like a jewel

The connection we made, was not one of a fool

My friends are so important to me

And that’s exactly the way it should be

Life isn’t infinite, I know that for sure

Which is why friendship should be at its core

To love and to hold is a wonderful gift

Is the surest way to give your soul a lift

So treasure those you love and adore

And distance yourself from those you abhor

Where is the love that kept us both whole?

Where is the love that was our joint goal?

I wish you had talked, been honest with your mind

It may not have helped, but would have been more kind

I look back at photos of us at our best

And try and make sense of permanence as a guest

Today was hard, I felt the loss

Felt like he didn’t give a toss

Thinking about all of our previous jaunts

No good to travel this road in my mind

It only hurts and feels so unkind

I accept what is, yet feel such pain

I trust that this won’t be my bane

I must learn to walk in these new shoes

And trust that there is nothing left to lose

My heart is strong, my spirit keeps me safe

The Universe protects me, my Angels keep faith

I feel the energy, I am the source
