Self-serving

The extent of recollection

Depends on the mind recollecting

If there wasn’t thought in the delivery

There’ll be far less in the fetching

The awareness of a life doing

Will make way for just being

Attempts to outrun yourself

Reveal the futility of fleeing

The manmade illusion

That the world is unravelling

Can imprison the heart

From its own, soulful travelling

Suspended within reach

Our perfect selves are there floating

Accessible to everyone

Who takes action, rather than quoting

The impermanence of everything

Is the gift of the living

It creates freedom for growth

Our divine purpose is self-serving

Second to None

The dis-ease in your mind, is the denial that you’re great

There is greatness within you, whether you hide or exaggerate

It is true, oh so true, despite seeing it, or not

Release un-wanted conditions, do not let your mind rot

It is true whether you’re focused, on your growth to the stars

It is true whether you’re trapped, behind your own prison bars

You, with hard luck stories, filling megabytes of space!

Deny all you want to, you’re in a self-created chase

Affirm your desire, what you focus on, you create

You are never in the wrong place and it’s never too late

Find your own starting point; be cool with where you’re at

Beliefs change all the time, often depending on where you’re sat

You are really okay.  Yes.  You are allowed to believe

Your desire to be magnificent; it’s the ace up your sleeve

Show more interest in where you’re going, than where you have been

Be mindful of your intentions, as you affirm all you dream

You create your own life, by the thoughts that you practice

There’ll always be influences, don’t be preoccupied with injustice

You choose the tone of your questioning,  so are you asking the right one?

Believe in your magnificence without measurement, you are second to none!

Trusting Intuition

Looking through old photos

Seen with new eyes

An apparent wholeness of being

In two-dimensional minutiae

The aliveness projecting

From the pixellated print

Is an external reminder

Life’s a privilege, not a sprint

Savouring experiences

New lessons always learnt

A blueprint, perhaps?

Life can still leave you burnt

It’s a risk always worth taking

Sometimes a love becomes lost

By relinquishing control

There’s nothing left to accost

Trusting intuition

Seeing perfection in old flaws

Stepping into life’s purpose

No safety net, or guarantors

Looking back is only useful

If grounded firmly in the now

Or the image becomes distorted

A new tint added somehow

I know a young lady

I know a young lady

Who often felt scared

I don’t know why, she often felt scared?

She wasn’t prepared…

I know a young lady

Who used to get high

To be free of her mind, to bid it goodbye

She took the drugs, because she was scared

I don’t know why, she often felt scared?

She wasn’t prepared…

I know a young lady

Who used to tell lies

Her heart would die, with each telling of a lie

She told the lies, to hide the highs

She took the drugs, because she was scared

I don’t know why, she often felt scared?

She wasn’t prepared…

I know a young lady

Who wasn’t awake

Despite a daybreak, she wasn’t awake

She wasn’t awake, as she told the lies

She told the lies, to hide the highs

She took the drugs, because she was scared

I don’t know why, she sometimes felt scared?

She wasn’t prepared…

I know a young lady

Who knew there was more

She knew for sure, there had to be more

She knew there was more, as she started to awake

As she began to awake, she forgave herself the lies

Forgiving all the lies, left no need for the highs

By leaving the highs, she felt far less scared

I don’t know why, she had ever felt scared?

She’s feeling prepared…

I know a young lady

Who is now letting go

By going with the flow, she is learning to let go

As she lets everything go, she knows there is more

Knowing there is more, she becomes more awake

Becoming more awake, she’s learnt from the lies

Learning from the lies, there is no need for the highs

By not hiding behind the highs, she is no longer scared

I don’t know why, she had ever felt scared?

She’s totally prepared…

I know a young lady

Who trusts in the process

Now she’s wide awake!

Her own success!

Mislaid Days

Mislaid days

Lost in the contours of the mind

Tied into knots

Thoughts and dreams intertwined

Inches of print

Saying how life should look

Potential becomes limited

By this unconscious rulebook

Language is laden

Weighed heavily with lies

Evident choices

In a five-a-day disguise

Dangerous allies

In a home-grown crowd

Petulant egos

With agendas unavowed

Misguided living

Projects unchecked intent

Blindly following

Prevents spiritual ascent

Unshackle yourself

From the timelessness of time

Remove old labels

Shift from the paradigm

Follow your lead

Do not justify or defend

Know you are enough

Become your own best friend

Yesterday’s gone

This journey is yours

As you steer its course

Atlas shrugging his shoulders

There is nothing to force

Do you get it?  It’s simple

Feel it in your bones

Your ego isn’t responsible

It’s thinking that condones

Be free of opinions

Of how everything must look

Write your new chapter

Create your own rulebook

Dream big with your life

Please dare to be bold

You’re allowed to be great

To win your own gold

Yesterday’s gone

Bid it farewell

Tomorrow is far off

It’s in this moment you dwell
