Displacement

Ripples
Tensions broken on impact
Beyond the surface
Calmness reigns
As geometrical perfection
Expands from the epicentre
Strengthened by the conviction
Yet oblivious to the intent
Of the life left behind
Sinking to its fluid death
Displacing itself eternally

The pavement of life

Avoiding the cracks

On the pavement of life

Is impossible to achieve

As the pitfalls are rife

Loose pavings abound

So take care as you step

Solely focusing on your feet

Makes the journey a schlepp

You may fall, you may graze

As the path isn’t mapped

If you reach a dead-end

It’s your mind that’s entrapped

You can follow the course

In the footsteps of others

Create a false sense of self

The destination, another’s

So be brave as you venture

Stepping out of your way

Accept the rough with the smooth

In turn seizing your day

Revealing what was foretold

Her petulant tone

Far too loud to ignore

Matched the cacophony of sound

As her toys hit the floor

Smashing on impact

Into venomous shards

Which she ground into dust

With complete disregard

Always centre of stage

By diverting attention

With a shift in the gaze

Came a new reinvention

Her stiletto spiked feet

Were a stake through the hearts

Of the men she would lure

From their betrothed, counterparts

Never pausing for breath

The next victim in sight

A shiny acquisition

Her actions could blight

And as day became night

And as night became day

She’d manipulate her friends

To ensure her own way

Then one day, Karma crossed

Her designer styled threshold

And held up a mirror

Revealing what was foretold

She screamed at the image

Of the devil’s reflection

Seeing all the deep lines

In her botoxed complexion

And so her heart shattered

Into one million pieces

Her soul taking its cue

As her last breath releases

The unevolved individual

Words fall to earth,

Weighted by the gravity

Of their intent

Ricocheting off the opinions

Of the observer,

The unevolved individual

Who deems himself worthy

Of adding his own content

Moulding the message

To serve his own meaning,

Creating a new translation,

Now just an echo

Of the truth

His heart screaming

At his spirit to stop

Muting its purpose,

Of ignoring

The lessons

Being taught

Know you are utterly, perfect

Are you a slave to routine?

Or a slave to your mind?

Or a slave to the fears

That now riddle mankind?

Those invisible shackles

Are locked only by thought

Fictitious, limiting beliefs

Of which many are taught

Surrender takes courage

A lengthening of stride

A desire to be better

To encompass, not divide

Are you only counting days

Of a life, to get through?

Anxiety pandemic

Acquiring more, a virtue

Wake up from your sleep!

Seize the present; it’s a gift

Know you are utterly, perfect

Then start to heal your own rift

If I was in charge

If I was in charge

I’d peel back the layers

Dispelling the lies

Fed to us, the taxpayers

If I was in charge

I’d lift up the veil

Revealing the truth

Every sordid detail

If I was in charge

Every child would be fed

Consolidating resources

The wealth would be spread

If I was in charge

I’d dismantle hierarchy

Making all of us equal

Create a social autarchy

If I was in charge

I’d hold everyone accountable

To be part of the change

All problems surmountable
