Loneliness

Loneliness

Loneliness

What do you want from me?

What is required of me

To bid you farewell?

I try to greet you

Embrace you

As I would a friend

Yet you turn your back

Uncomfortable in my presence

Why do you not face me?

Let me reassure you

That I wish you no harm

Only to release you

From your dark abode

To set you free

To wander content

In new surroundings

For you to see

We have no need of each other

Expect to Expect

Expect life to teach you, all you need know

Expect to reap just, as much as you sow

Expect to receive, all the love you are worth

Expect to discover, your soul purpose of birth

Expect to make sense, of the lessons you’ll learn

Expect to have times, when you’ll need to discern

Expect life to give you, what you need at that time

Expect to face peaks, over which you must climb

Expect to be taught, that truth is not always told

Expect to have moments, when you’ll have to be bold

Expect to find love, to be swept off your feet

Expect to be honoured, by those who mistreat

Expect to expect, you are one of a kind

Expect you are just, as the Universe designed

Think of…

Think of never-ending moments, that fill you with joy

Think of baking cupcakes and swinging some poi

Think of a sky full of clouds that float you away

Think of all of the people you’ve met on your way

Think of sunshine and ice cream, hanging out with your mate

Think of snowballs and sleep overs and staying up late

Think of kittens on hoovers and bees in bow ties

Think of dancing with abandon and eating cherry pies

Think of back rubs and floating on your back in the pool

Think of all that can be and that life changing call

Think of all that you are and hold that thought tight

Think of walking tall, surrounded by white light

Think of presence and gratitude, of living here and now

Think of passionately making love and cows that meow

Think of the full moon cleansing you down to your toes

Think of planting a tree and watching as it grows

A Shiny Smile ;)

Glancing in the mirror

I am greeted by myself

A shiny smile replies in kind

The true measure of my wealth

No longer scared to catch my eye

Or seeking imagined flaws

Reflecting light, the child within

Is ushered from distant shores

Not taught to look admiringly

Don’t stare! A rule of thumb

Told that self-love is a vanity

Others happy if you’re glum

Shallowness, an issue

When meaning is skin deep

Buying into a youthful currency

Not yet awoken from their sleep

Layer upon layer discarded

Beliefs strewn across the desk

Unshackled from my comfort zone

The outlook picturesque

Naked, my favourite outfit

Clothed only by my skin

Seeing essence beyond the atoms

The ethereal glow within

Become your own hero

Get into the game

Do not hold yourself back

Awaken your best self

And take up the slack

Clarify uncertainties

Have courage; speak your truth

False assumptions, just that

No one is bulletproof

Do not put off living

For some future event

Do not presume what will happen

Take big risks to circumvent

Seize all opportunities

Do not play small

The fear behind resistance

Stops you being your all

Live your life backwards

Where will you be at the end?

Make the choices to get there

Truly embark, don’t pretend

Betrayal and limitations

Are all your own work

Question your beliefs

This task, you cannot shirk

Let all of your talents

See the pure light of day

Become your own hero

And live life your way

Words

Words are more than their letters and how they are arranged

Uttered from unstable minds, they become totally deranged

They can cause some introspection, or make you feel you’re cursed

They can incite the best in all of us and antagonise the worst

They can be sung in celebration, or screamed out in despair

Create an honest form of clarity, or be a burden you must bear

Books upon books are written, pages littered with prose

Recording and then sharing, human victories and woes

Objects upon billboards, demanding to be bought

Never ending promotions; a false happiness being sought

Honest misdirection, in bigger and bolder fonts

Misery perpetrated, by empty, unfulfilled wants

Whispers becoming louder, truths coming into view

Old words rediscovered, a true purpose heard anew
