Become your own hero

Get into the game

Do not hold yourself back

Awaken your best self

And take up the slack

Clarify uncertainties

Have courage; speak your truth

False assumptions, just that

No one is bulletproof

Do not put off living

For some future event

Do not presume what will happen

Take big risks to circumvent

Seize all opportunities

Do not play small

The fear behind resistance

Stops you being your all

Live your life backwards

Where will you be at the end?

Make the choices to get there

Truly embark, don’t pretend

Betrayal and limitations

Are all your own work

Question your beliefs

This task, you cannot shirk

Let all of your talents

See the pure light of day

Become your own hero

And live life your way

What happens if?

What happens if the realisation is

That you are, more than perfect?

But perfection is the dichotomy

Of a deranged mind, you suspect

What happens if you are prepared

To fight hand over fist?

Until the thin membrane of life

Manifests its truth, unnoticed

What happens if you are stranded

Cast adrift in your life?

Devoid of constants to measure

The ever-impeding strife

What happens if your knowing

Becomes totally dislodged?

With your heart cast adrift

The soul cannot be judged

What happens if your mind

Starts to wander off at night?

To a star-spangled optimism

The definitive cure of man’s plight

What happens if your imagination

Is more, than the sum of its parts?

Causing a split in the seams

Spewing truths set to smart

What happens if pure potential

Is well, within your grasp?

But you’re all fingers and thumbs

And cannot undo the clasp

What happens if your reflection

Doesn’t recognise its source?

Hiding behind transparent falsehoods

The modern Trojan Horse

What happens if your wants

Cannot breathe beneath the fear?

In an attempt to catch your breath

You search a wave you can steer

What happens if your heart

Cannot fathom its own truth?

Separated by a distance

In a disconnected phone-booth

Trusting Intuition

Looking through old photos

Seen with new eyes

An apparent wholeness of being

In two-dimensional minutiae

The aliveness projecting

From the pixellated print

Is an external reminder

Life’s a privilege, not a sprint

Savouring experiences

New lessons always learnt

A blueprint, perhaps?

Life can still leave you burnt

It’s a risk always worth taking

Sometimes a love becomes lost

By relinquishing control

There’s nothing left to accost

Trusting intuition

Seeing perfection in old flaws

Stepping into life’s purpose

No safety net, or guarantors

Looking back is only useful

If grounded firmly in the now

Or the image becomes distorted

A new tint added somehow

No fixed direction

With anticipation and hope

Watching from the side line

It’s only thinking creating

A different outcome each time

What is my heart’s desire?

What do I really want?

Does it help to rewrite

In a totally new font?

There are no rights or wrongs

That is so plain to see

Where is the clarity of reason?

The real purpose of me?

So much time has been wasted

On just doing and re-doing

Without a satisfying outcome

It is with love, I need wooing

My ideals and my design

Becoming clear in my heart

Who are the movers and shakers?

To share my new start?

Stepping off the start line

No longer scared, win or lose

Knowing there’s only this moment

No fixed direction to choose

Resolution

Resolve to live life, to its very highest level

This means embracing the good; sidestepping the devil

Do not interfere in what does not concern you

Jealousy of others is the egos real virtue

We all make wrong decisions, from time to time

For them to become a mantle, well that’s the real crime

Humans project, it’s an outdated time-setting

Be grounded and present, only you do the letting

The Universe wants us, to all shine and grow

Observe how it’s others that can make you feel low

With that in your mind and forgiveness in your heart

Let others make their choices, it’s their journey to chart

Of course you feel invested, you’re human, you care

But who are we really to be the judge and compare?

It’s time to view life from a newly evolved state

To trust our intuition; it is never too late

The old adage is true, we say it often without thought

Walk a mile in another’s shoes, before you exhort

Let’s drop all the crap, allow others to just be

Turn our focus on our own lives, be our own hearts trustee

Where are you?

The sound of the rain

As it falls from the sky

Makes me feel such a sadness

And question the why

I stand in the garden

Getting soaked to the skin

Trying to make sense

Of my feelings within

Where are you in spirit?

Where are you in form?

Do you still feel our connection?

Know we needn’t conform?

I dream of you embracing

My body and soul

Of feeling safe in the knowledge

We make one another whole

Am I naive to even think

That we could go back to the start?

Creating a new equal partnership

Of which we both can impart?

Patience, not my virtue

I know that’s the truth

I want to know what’s the outcome

Trying to be my own sleuth…

So many stories to share

So much water under the bridge

Are you even reading these words?

Whilst out on your ridge?
